Spanish Rice

This is a recipe that I got from my sister Amanda. It is really good!
1 cup long grain rice
2 TBSP. butter or corn oil
1 can tomato sauce
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. crushed garlic
2 cups chicken or beef broth

Optional:
1/2 cup canned or frozen corn
1 cup red or black beans
1/2 cup diced green chili's
1/2 cup sliced black or green olives

Put oil in pan with rice until rice starts popping. Add onions and garlic saute together. Add Broth, tomato sauce and other optional items. Cover and let simmer 20 -25 minutes. If it starts to look dry add more broth.
